Creator Charter

Version 1.0. This charter sets out what every creator displaying a Human Origin badge commits to, and what we commit to in return. It applies to both badges: “Self-declared” and “Process reviewed”.
1. The principle
The work covered by your badge is made by you. You may use tools, including AI tools, for supporting tasks. You may not use AI to generate or substantially rewrite the text, images, sound or footage that make up the work.
2. What is allowed and what is not
Everywhere: research, references and inspiration are allowed, including from AI tools, as long as you create the work itself. Presenting AI-generated parts as your own is never allowed.

3. Your commitments
- Honesty. Everything you show us during a review is genuine and relates to the work covered by your badge. A screen recording must be made for this review and show the one-time code we give you.
- Your own website only. Display your badge on your own website, profiles or publications. A reviewed badge belongs to the creator named on its verification page and cannot be transferred.
- Only for covered work. Place the badge next to the work it covers, or in a general spot (footer, about page) only if all the work you publish there follows this charter.
- Unaltered badge. Use the code we provide as is: do not edit the image, remove the link or change where it points.
- No overstatement. Do not describe the badge as a certification, a guarantee or an official label. Say that your creative process was reviewed, or that you declare following the Human Origin standard.
- Keep us informed. If your practice changes and your work no longer follows this charter, remove the badge and let us know.
4. Our commitments
- A fair review. We look at your evidence with care and explain our decision, including when we decline.
- Your files are never kept. Reviews take place live on a video call where you share your screen, or from a screen recording you send through an encrypted app or an expiring link. We delete any recording within 7 days of our decision and keep only a short note of what we saw.
- Transparency. Your verification page states what was reviewed, when and how. It never claims more than that.
- Your data. We handle it as described in our privacy policy.
5. Revocation
We may revoke a badge if it is displayed in breach of this charter, in particular if the work covered includes AI-generated content, if evidence shown during the review was not genuine, or if the badge is used on someone else’s work.
Self-declared badges are not tied to a named creator, so for them revocation applies to the website where the badge is displayed: every Human Origin badge on that site then shows as revoked.
Except in cases of obvious fraud, we first contact you by email and give you 14 days to explain or correct the situation. If we revoke the badge, its verification page states so publicly, the badge shows “Badge revoked” on every site that displays it, and you must remove it.
6. Leaving the program
You can leave at any time by writing to us. We delete your verification page and your badge stops working. Please remove it from your website.
7. Changes to this charter
Each version of this charter is numbered. We inform reviewed creators by email at least 30 days before a new version applies. If you do not accept it, you can leave the program as described above.
8. How you accept this charter
- Self-declared badge: by adding the badge to your website.
- Process-reviewed badge: by confirming in writing, before your verification page is published, with this sentence: “I have read and accept the Human Origin Creator Charter, version 1.0, and I agree that my verification page is published.”
